This museum contains one of the most unique displays of operating reciprocating steam engines in the USA.

Each year, in the fall, the Museum holds a "Steam Up" open to the public, displaying all the engines running under steam. A great 'take in' for steam engineers and their families.

Welcome to the Steam Engineering Institute

The Steam Engineering Institute, founded in 1981, offers distance learning courses for Massachusetts Stationary Engineers' and Firemen's license examination preparation, and license renewal continuing education courses.

SEI is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a correspondence school. The school is approved by the Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Safety to offer continuing education credits for Engineers and Firemen's license renewals.
