Senate Bill 2473 was not passed
Created on 4th August 2008 by Paul G. Logan
To all Engineers and Firemen
Senate Bill 2473 was not passed.
You have done it again. You stopped another Bill that was not in the best interest of Firemen and Engineers. Your e-mail's, letters, phone calls etc. kept Senate Bill2473 (The Bill to remove the title of Chief of Inspections from the Department to Public Safety) in Committee and it did not go out to the FLOOR for a vote. Votes closed on July 31,2008
But it's not over yet. This Bill can still be passed in an "informal session" before December 31, 2008. The good news is that it will only take the vote of one Senator or one Representative to kill this Bill. There are still many politicians pushing to get this Bill passed.
So get in touch with your Representative and or Senator and tell them to voice their objection to this Bill.
